here's what i have done as your representative
in the 2011 montana legislative session:

  1. Lowered Business Equipment Tax. SB 372 (Tutvedt) Lowered the tax rate from 3% to 2% for every business on their first $2 million of equipment. Additionally, if tax collections exceed a trigger level in years ahead, the rate will drop to 1.5%, providing savings that can be used to increase wages and expand operations.
  2. Workers’ Compensation Reform. HB 334 (Reichner) Reformed many of the cost drivers that cause Montana to have the highest workers’ compensation premiums in the nation. Results: over 20% reduction in work comp premiums.
  3. Reduced General Fund Spending by over 6% compared to the 2010-11 budget and maintained Montana’s essential state services. These were real cuts, not just reductions from the one-time stimulus money.
  4. Appointed Chairman of the Fish-Wildlife and Parks Committee for the 2011 session. Served on Education, State Administration and Fish-Wildlife-Parks Committees in 2009 and 2011 House Sessions.
  5. I vote to protect innocent human life, both born and unborn.
  6. I believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman.
  7. I have no hidden agenda. My job is to represent all residents of House District 69.

  • Schools must prepare students to succeed in our changing state and world.
  • We must encourage the development of our new teachers and administrators.
  • Every student must have a strong foundation in writing, reading and math
  • Schools must be held accountable to reach education standards.
